The Challenge
The topic of health consciousness is really big and everyone has a different opinion and perspective on it. This project was to create an app that addresses this issue and differentiate from other existing applications.
Research and User Needs
The first thing to do was to go out and do field observations in different areas relating to health conscious. I came up with a list of user needs based on my observations from the gym and grocery markets.
Needs a way to monitor own health
Wants to know what foods are healthy
Monitor his/her weight
Wants to look good and in shape
Consistent diet and routine
Need to create a fitness plan
Know how long food lasts
Interview and Speed Dating
I then created a few different storyboards to represent different ideas. I then did a few speed dating guides with the storyboards for feedback.
Information Architecture and Wireframes
Next I then created the information architecture and what main features the app would have. I then began to sketch and wireframe the screens.
Design Language System
I then created a moodboard by putting a bunch of pictures together based on adjectives that represent my idea. Based on the moodboard I then created a design language specification to show choice of colors, typefaces, and design elements.
Mockups
Using the design spec I created, I then created mockups of our final screens for submission using Figma with the added colors. I then made a click through prototype using Invision.
Presentation and Pitch
I then designed the layout for a poster presentation on this app. Putting together the whole process and pitching the idea.
